📋 About This Mod

This mod adds the ability to pull items and actors to you, or yourself to world objects, like a hookshot from Zelda.

# OpenMW Hookshot

A mod for OpenMW that allows you to pull items and actors to you, or yourself to world objects, like a hookshot from The Legend of Zelda.

### Main Features

1. Pull actors and items to you by firing the hookshot at them

2. Pull yourself to distant objects or terrain by firing the hookshot at something stationary

### Requirements

OpenMW 0. 49+. Install by adding the mod to the data directories list.

### State of Mod

Main functionality is mostly complete - you can grab items and actors in the reticle and pull them to you,

or hook on to objects to fly to them. There are some known issues, see below for more details.

### Default keymappings

- Activate Hookshot reticle/fire hookshot (when reticle is active): z

- Cancel Hookshot aiming mode: x

### Known issues:

- Hookshot doesn't work in water - it will collide with the water and not do anything

- Self-pulling can be visually jittery in open areas. I think this has to do with rendering interactions with teleportation

- No actual visual indicator of the hookshot or chain (yet)

- Item collision can be wonky. Because items have no actual physical dimensions in game, I had to make a "best guess" one-size-fits-all attempt at figuring out their collision rules. Large items may clip through nearby objects slightly or fall to be partway into the floor, and small items may interact badly when too close to

nearby objects such as shelves.

- Behavior can be weird when saving/loading or reloading lua. I haven't fixed all of these yet.

### Credits:

- This mod owes a huge debt to the code from the Real Telekinesis for OpenMW mod by lightningrodbombom, which provided very useful methods for camera targeting and moving objects through space.

- This mod uses sounds from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, courtesy of HelpTheWretched at http://noproblo.dayjo.org/ZeldaSounds/

### Extension:

-  This mod is freely available for further modification or extension.
