Economy Plus
An experimental economy overhaul for OpenMW 0. 51. It prices every item in your load order with the same rules, and it rebuilds the barter window so merchants act more like real shops.
The main part is the price builder. What always annoyed me with a big mod list is every mod prices stuff its own way. You'll find an ebony sword from one mod worth 20k and another one worth 2k, and then you're hunting for balance patches that break the second you add something new. With this you just double click the builder and it goes through your whole load order and prices every single item with the same rules. What it's made of, the quality, the enchantments, and how rare it actually is in your game. Vanilla, TR, Project Cyrodiil, OAAB, random armour mods, all of it ends up on the same scale. Add or update a mod, run it again, done. You just need python installed! Took about a minute on my 200 plugin list, and someone with 650 plugins said it took a few minutes.
EXPERIMENTAL, OPEN BETA UI REWRITE IN PROCESS
This mod is still being worked on, and I need players to help me find problems.
Prices come from a set of rules, and with tens of thousands of items across all the mods out there, some of them are going to come out wrong.
If something looks off, please report it (see Reporting problems below). Every report helps me fix the rules.

What this mod is about
Morrowind's economy falls apart pretty early. By level 10 you're rich, merchants can't afford anything you're carrying, and gold stops meaning much. A big mod list makes it worse. Every mod author priced their items their own way, so an ebony sword from one mod can be worth a tenth of the same sword from another.
This mod goes after both problems:
-
[]Every weapon, armour piece, piece of clothing, potion, scroll, ingredient, book and misc item in your load order gets priced by the same rules, based on what it actually is: what it's made of, its quality, its magic, and how rare it is in the world ect.[/]
[]The barter window is rebuilt from scratch. Merchants have limits, haggling depends on your character, there's consignment deals to sell expensive loot, and there's a panel that tells you why something costs what it does.[/]
[]Common loot sells for less, rare finds sell for more, and there are new ways to spend your gold.[/]
[]Regional pricing to reflect on local goods and more[/]
[]Optional investment/partnership feature to secure some weekly shop payments.[/]
[]Reasons to travel around shopping and finding high tier rated shopkeepers.[/]
Since everyone's mod list is different, you don't download a fixed price file. The mod comes with a small price builder that reads your load order and makes prices for your setup. You double click one file and wait about a minute. You don't need to install Python.
(made possible with the help of Claude ai building the ruleset and script with a lua debugger model I have set up)
Requirements
-
[]OpenMW 0. 51 or newer. This is an OpenMW Lua mod, so it won't work with the original Morrowind engine or MWSE.[/]
[]UIToolkit by (link). This is required. The whole barter window is built on it.[/]
[]Morrowind with Tribunal and Bloodmoon.[/]
Tamriel Rebuilt, Tamriel Data, Project Cyrodiil, Skyrim: Home of the Nords and OAAB all work with it, but you don't need them. The builder prices whatever you have installed.
Installation (IMPORTANT)
1. Install UIToolkit first, following its own page.
2. Install this mod. Extract the Economy folder somewhere it can stay, like next to your other mods. Add it in the OpenMW launcher under Data Files > Directories, or through your mod manager.
3. Turn on both files
