📋 About This Mod
Overview
Crafting Framework is a UI, resource, and tool to create new professions and recipes.
Features
[]Filters for available recipes only, in addition to a drop-down menu which filters recipes by profession.[/]
[]Recipes are shown in red when your skill or profession is too low to craft them. Click the Filter button hides anything you can't currently craft.[/]
[]Crafting materials in unlocked, unowned, containers within reach are usable for crafting, so you aren't forced to use your inventory to hold materials.[/]
[]A draggable button is added to the repair window to activate the Crafting UI. Holding Shift while using a repair tool will open the crafting window in its place. This is in place for legacy support. Keep in mind that this will only display your professions and recipes. If recipes require a crafting station, you will need to meet that condition and any other conditions first.[/]
[]Gamepad support. D-pad scrolls the recipe list and PageUp/PageDown jumps by half a window. [/]
[]A search bar with field queries and fuzzy searching. The list filters are updated as you type. Plain text searches for name + ingredients + category. Quoted phrases all work, in addition to other search commands:
- skill:smithing
- level:<=30
- cat:daedric
- ing:"daedra heart"
- prof:fletching- cursed [/]
[]Touches. Player-toggleable craft modifiers shown as buttons above the recipe list. A touch owns its on/off toggle, a per-recipe gate (so e.g. it's only offered on weapons/armor), a crafting-time multiplier, and a save-stat counter; its actual effects are written as ordinary modifiers (ingredients, quality, exp, etc.). The included Artisan's Touch ships as one of these: gated to weapons/armor/clothing, adds a diamond, doubles crafting time, but bumps quality above 1. 0 and softens the skill-deficit penalty. Third-party mods can register their own touches the same way.[/]
[]Settings menu. Window height (max recipes per page), font size, Exp multiplier, "hide vanilla windows when crafting" toggle, crafting speed multiplier, a "use crafting skill" toggle, scroll wrap behavior at the list edges, and a "use vanilla colors" toggle (for theme replacers that override the game's colors) are all configurable in the in-game settings menu.[/]

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid endorsement count (193) shows community trust.
- High download numbers (13,359) indicate real usage.
- Recently updated (May 2026) so it's actively maintained.
⚠️ Cons
- Description is thin—no details on how the framework works or what recipes are included.
- Requires OpenMW, so it won't work with vanilla Morrowind or other engines.
For OpenMW players who want a more flexible crafting system. If you're into modding your game with custom recipes, this gives you the UI backbone. Not for vanilla Morrowind users.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you're running OpenMW, not the original Morrowind executable.
- Check the mod's forum or comments for example external recipes to get started.
- If you're new to modding, place the mod in your OpenMW data directory and enable it in the launcher.
