No More Ugly Shield Effects

This mod removes the intrusive visual effects from Shield, Fire Shield, Frost Shield, and Lightning Shield spells/enchantments. This will remove both the particle effects and the big orb around characters with active shields (including the player), which makes it much more tolerable to use Shield constant effect items (e.g. Wraithguard) in first-person without huge sparklies flying around your vision all the time. It also makes it less visually jarring to fight NPCs with active Shields since they will no longer have huge ugly orbs around them!

Note that this means you will not be able to visually tell if an enemy has an active Shield, so keep that in mind! :)

Only requires Morrowind.esp!

There's also a version for Morrowind Rebirth which requires Rebirth, Bloodmoon, and Tribunal.

Just download the version you need and install with Vortex or extract the zip to your Morrowind directory

If your character is currently wearing a Shield constant effect item, make sure to unequip and re-equip it or the visual effect will still be there. If your character currently has a Shield spell cast on them, wait for it to expire and the next Shield spell will not have visual effects.

This won't be compatible with any mods that add extra shield spell effects (the visuals are removed from each individual shield effect). If a mod edits the vanilla Morrowind effect, load this mod after it and it should work fine.

However, I did make a version that's compatible with Morrowind Rebirth, since for some reason it adds an additional shield effect.
