Maps of Tamriel and Other Lands

This mod page covers all of my maps related to The Elder Scrolls and includes the source files so anyone can adapt them as they wish or use the backgrounds without labels.

These files are provided as is. There are layers to make them easier to work with, but these were developed for myself, not originally for others to understand. Several of the maps are outdated at this point due to the nature of Morrowind province mod development and new ESO and official game releases. I may or may not update the maps to reflect those changes, as it takes a lot of effort and for ESO especially, I don't always think changes to old areas will look good.

I've decided to host here on Morrowind Nexus since this is where most of my mods are, and most of the maps here are relevant to the Morrowind lore era.

For another excellent mapping resource, please see The Gridmap, which is the main mapping resource used by Tamriel Rebuilt, Project Tamriel, Padomaic Isles, and other province mods. Credit goes to the authors of that map for the base outlines of several maps here. Credit also to Bethesda, especially the designers of the Elder Scrolls Anthology Map of Tamriel.

Requirements

The file formats are png, jpg, pdn (Paint. NET), svg (Inkscape), or xcf (GIMP). You should be able to use Photoshop and Illustrator as well. On MacOS and Linux, you can use LazPaint in place of Paint. NET to open pdn files. I haven't tested in any other software.

You need Cursive Serif font installed for all users to see labels correctly on some maps. This is a public domain font, and credit goes to author Wojciech Kalinowski.

Permissions

Permissions are completely open, to the extent that I am able to allow. Obviously, you cannot use these maps commercially because they all trace back to Bethesda's IP. However, feel free to reconfigure them as you wish and republish any variation of them under fair use on NexusMods, Reddit, Discord, UESP, and other fan websites.

Tamriel Canon (Elder Scrolls Anthology + ESO)

This is the most detailed of my maps with the longest history. I made it using various official maps from the Elder Scrolls series. They are based primarily on the Elder Scrolls Anthology map, along with the West Tamriel map and maps from Arena through ESO. This map served as the starting point in development for the base map in Elder Kings II, a mod for Crusader Kings III (see Dev Diary #1).
