Item Price Patcher

The Item Price Patcher is a terminal generator for OpenMW. It scans your active load order and creates a custom ESP that reduces high item prices across the items your setup actually uses. It DRASTICALLY reduces the gold earnt when selling high value items, without affecting the early game.

This is a companion mod designed to work alongside Solvent Merchants. Together they aim to make the Morrowind economy more fun, engaging, and immersive.

This is not a ready-made plugin, you must run the generator whenever you add, remove, update, or reorder mods that change item records.

  Requirements

  - Python 3. 9+

  Installation

  • []Extract the archive.[/]

    []Open a terminal in the extracted folder.[/]

    []Run: python3 build_item_price_patcher.py and follow the wizard.[/]

    []Enable the generated Item Price Patcher.esp late in your OpenMW load order.[/]

  Using Mod Organizer
  • []Install Item Price Patcher as a normal MO2 mod.[/]

    []Open the MO2 executables menu and add a new executable.[/]

    []Set the executable fields like this:

    Title: Item Price Patcher

    Binary: your Python executable, such as python.exe

    Arguments: the full path to build_item_price_patcher.py

    Start in: the Item Price Patcher mod folder[/]

    []Select Item Price Patcher from the MO2 executable dropdown and run it.[/]

    []Enable the generated Item Price Patcher.esp late in your OpenMW load order.[/]

    Compatibility

    The generated ESP is specific to your current OpenMW load order. If you add, remove, update, or reorder item mods, rerun the generator and replace the old generated ESP.

    Do not enable multiple generated item price patches at the same time. Keep only the latest Item Price Patcher.esp active.
