📋 About This Mod
A recreation of Ironfist for OpenMW 0.50+
(requires OpenMW 0. 50+)
A remake of Ironfist for Openmw.
makes unarmed combat scale off the gauntlets/bracers (or gloves) you wear.
When you punch unarmed, the mod:
Finds the hand piece you’re wearing
Computes a bonus damage based on:
the item’s weight class (heavy / medium / light / clothing),
the item’s current condition (more worn = weaker, with a floor so it never hits zero),
your Strength and Hand-to-Hand,
your swing strength (how “charged” the punch was).
Adds that bonus before armor & difficulty are applied by the engine.
(Optional) Damages your gauntlet on hit
Install Instructions:
(requires OpenMW 0. 50+)
Unzip to your mod directory
Add to your Data Directory (either via the launcher, cfg, or however you manage your mods)
Ensure that IronFistForOpenMW.owmscripts is enabled in content files (again, via the launcher, cfg, or however you manage your mods)
I don't recommend enabling "Factor Strength in hand-to-hand combat" as the mod already factors strength for the damage. If you want to feel stronger, then by all means enable it but:
I highly suggest changing the settings when you start the mod. It defaults to 1x which is only ~3 damage for a fully charged hit with heavy armor gauntlets. Weapon durability degradation is also defaulted to being off.
Base Scalar (default: 1. 0)
The overall magnitude of the bonus before other multipliers. Lower it if IronFist feels too strong, raise it if it feels too weak.
Heavy / Medium / Light / Clothing Multiplier (defaults: 1. 5/ 1. 0 / 0. 5 )
Weight-class scaling for armor hand pieces (gauntlets/bracers).
Example: a heavy gauntlet hits harder than a light bracer at equal condition.
Clothing Multiplier (default: 0. 35)
Bonus when wearing clothing gloves. Lower than armor to keep armor meaningful.
Condition Floor (default: 0. 10)
Minimum effectiveness your hand gear can contribute even when it’s almost broken (0–1).
Example: with a 10% floor, a wrecked gauntlet still gives at least 10% of its normal contribution.
H2H Weighting (default: 1. 0)
How strongly your Hand-to-Hand skill boosts the bonus
Strength Weighting (default: 1. 0)
How strongly Strength boosts the bonus (same idea as above).
Damage Gauntlet Condition (default: on)
When ON, your punch can reduce the striking gauntlet’s condition. Armor only; clothing gloves are ignored.
Deterioration Chance (%) (default: 20)
The chance per successful punch to apply wear when the above is ON.
Set to 100 for “wear every hit
