📋 About This Mod
For the changes made by AliceL93, see below. Original description by LaurenceWithey:
You encounter an old knight outside Hla Oad, with a seemingly menial quest for you - to clear out the bandits in Hlormaren. Little do you know there is more to this old knight and his motives than you expected...
A small quest plugin, with the reintroduction of a previously unseen certain chapter of knights and a new player-friendly base in the old Dunmer Stronghold of Hlormaren.
-
[]Short and sweet quest
[
]Meet a faction that was previously unrepresented on Vvardenfell
-
[]10 new NPCs! And a guar!
[
]A unique quest reward item, and a new base of player operations with services and merchants to boot!------------------
Should be all clean thanks to TESPCD, but if you find any GMSTs, dirty references or bugs in general, let me know!
Thanks for reading.
What has been changed by AliceL93 in this version to be considered "slightly improved?"
The original Hlormaren Reclaimed mod by LaurenceWithey is one of the best miscellaneous quest mods that I've ever played with, however there have been a couple of bugs and other issues with it. Luckily, according to the description of the mod, LaurenceWithey allows everyone to modify it in any way. Therefore I have implemented the following changes:
- The original mod for some reason modified the Imperial Cult faction: It got hidden from the player (It couldn't be seen on the Faction list on your character sheet) and it messed up the faction reactions as well. All of this has been fixed.
- The knight who gave you the quest had a campfire in Hla Oad. However, once you completed his quest, he moved to a new location and left the campfire behind to burn forever. This, on one hand is unimmersive, and on the other hand it might cause compatibility issues with mods that add new buildings to Hla Oad. Therefore I removed his campfire.
- I also fixed a couple of spelling and grammatical mistakes

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-tested with 226 endorsements and over 22k downloads.
- Adds a fresh quest to Morrowind with a narrative hook that goes beyond a simple bandit clear-out.
- Collaboration between two modders suggests a polished experience.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2021, so it may not be fully compatible with the latest Morrowind modding tools or patches.
- Requires the original mod by AliceL93? Not explicitly stated, but the title implies it's an improvement, so you may need the base mod.
For Morrowind players who enjoy quest mods with a bit of mystery and want to revisit a classic location with a new purpose. If you're looking for a quick, story-driven side quest without major overhauls, this fits. Skip if you prefer combat-heavy or loot-rich quests—this seems narrative-focused.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the Morrowind Code Patch or OpenMW for best stability with quest mods.
- If you're using a mod manager like Wrye Mash or MO2, install this mod and ensure it's active before loading your save.
- Talk to the knight outside Hla Oad to start the quest—don't expect a quest marker until you speak with him.
