Goatherdwind - Be a Goat Herder in (Open)Morrowind

Ever thought Morrowind needed more goats? In my quest to turn this classic into something more than endless combat and questing, I’ve created Goatherdwind, a mod that transforms your game into a true life simulator: become a goat herder. (The guar version is on its way).

To make the herding experience as immersive as possible, I’ve added new tools, events, and other features to the mod. Check out the video to see the new features in action.

New Events

• []Goats can get sick over time (1 in 90 chance per day). While sick, they cannot be interacted with. They can be cured using a spell or a Cure Common Disease potion.

  []Goats can break a leg, preventing movement (1 in 90 chance per day). Healing with health restoration potions or spells is required.

  []Goats can get a stone stuck in their hoof, potentially immobilizing them (1 in 90 chance per day). The player will need to remove the stone before the goat can function normally again.

  []Goats may disappear if they don’t have a bell around their neck (1 in 30 chance), unless they’re tied up.

  None of these events are mortal. Just make sure your goats are either tied up or wearing a bell - that’s the only thing that can make the goats disappear.

  New Features

  • []Goat hooves now overgrow over time. You’ll need a hoof cutter and a file to trim them. The more overgrown they are, the slower the goats move. If neglected for too long (45 days), the goat will be completely immobilized until the hooves are cared for.

    []Without shears, shearing the goats’ wool now takes longer.

    []Milking can no longer be done directly into bottles for realism. You must now fill a bucket first (each bucket holds up to 5 milkings) and then pour it into bottles.

    []Ropes are now required to tie up goats.

  • Herding the entire flock at once is no longer possible without a staff to guide them. Any type of staff can be used.

  All materials and tools needed to care for your goats can be purchased from the goat vendors themselves.
