📋 About This Mod
It's a texture replacer for the night sky and Masser from OpenMW Rafael's shader pack. You must enable sky option to see these new textures for the sky and moon. It shows a bit during the day too.
Requirements:
- Any OpenMW version that supports shaders;
- Rafael's shader pack;
- Post Process Shaders by EpochWon and Momw post processing pack - optional but recommended. Place them before Rafael's shaders. Adds more cool shaders, let's you make the game more colourful.
Installation:
- Simply overwrite Rafael's textures with the ones that I edited;
- Experiment with your shaders to make the game look a bit more colorful, if you want to;
- I usually set my stars to the brightest, you can see my settings in the screenshot.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Over 10,000 downloads shows real demand for a fantasy sky look.
- Tight focus: does one thing (sky and moon textures) and does it well.
- Recently updated (March 2025) so it's likely compatible with current shader pack versions.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 45 endorsements—small niche audience, so support is limited.
- Requires Rafael's Shader Pack to work—not standalone.
- No screenshots or detailed preview in the description, so you're flying blind on the look.
For OpenMW players using Rafael's Shader Pack who want a more fantastical night sky. If you're after a complete visual overhaul, this is just a piece—but if you love the shader pack and want a fresh sky, it's a quick win. Skip if you don't use that shader pack or prefer vanilla skies.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Rafael's Shader Pack installed first—this mod only replaces textures for that pack.
- Back up your original sky and Masser textures before overwriting, so you can revert if you don't like the new look.
- Since it's a texture replacer, just drop the files into your OpenMW data folder—no mod manager needed.
