📋 About This Mod
OpenMW mod that adds an item recharging service to all Enchanters. Controller compatible.
Extract to your `mods/` folder. In your `openmw.cfg` file, add these lines in the correct spots:
data="/wherevermymodsare/mods/ErnEnchantersRecharge-main"
content=ErnEnchantersRecharge.omwscripts
content=ErnEnchantersRecharge.omwaddon
Optionally add this line to disable natural enchanted item recharging:
content=ErnDisableNaturalRecharge.omwaddon
You can set `fMagicItemChargeRechargeMult` to scale the recharge cost. You can also scale the cost in-game from the mod settings page.
The cost is calculated like this:
(square root of total item base cost) * (ratio of missing charges) + (. 3 per missing charge)
This is then scaled up or down based on the Mercantile skill of your character and the enchanter.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Adds a convenient service that saves you from hunting down soul gems or using your own magicka.
- Controller compatible, so it works seamlessly for gamepad users.
- Recent update (May 2026) means it's likely compatible with current OpenMW versions.
⚠️ Cons
- Small mod with only 29 endorsements, so it's not widely tested.
- No details on how the fee is calculated or which enchanters offer the service.
- Requires OpenMW, so it won't work on the original Morrowind engine.
For Morrowind players using OpenMW who want a more convenient way to recharge enchanted items without relying on soul gems or self-casting. If you're tired of managing charges and want a simple in-game service, this is for you. Skip if you prefer the challenge of managing resources or play on the original engine.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you're running OpenMW, not the original Morrowind executable, as this mod is built for OpenMW's engine.
- After installing, check the nearest enchanter (like in Balmora or Caldera) to see if the service is available.
- If you're using a mod manager, just drop the files into your OpenMW data directory or use the mod manager's install feature.
