📋 About This Mod
New HD textures for the tapestries of the Nine Divines.
This mod adds brand-new tapestries, replacing the eight dedicated to the Imperial Divines pantheon.
I've always been bothered that the original textures were so dark, with poor contrast and barely recognizable.
So I completely remade them from scratch, giving them a more colorful look and with clearer and more distinguishable emblems.
The general look is a bit different and distinctive from the vanilla textures, but the reasoning here is that these tapestries are used to celebrate the Divines and serve a similar purpose as stained glass, for example, so it made sense to make them slightly more vibrant. The overall look is intended to reflect the imperial culture rather than the native Dunmer style.
Starting from version 2. 0. 0, I've completely remade them, with the assistance of generative AI tools (NanoBanana from Google Gemini), and manual post-processing for harmonization. I'm quite satisfied with the overall result, feel free to check for yourself if you like them.
I may revisit them in the future if GenAI tools will provide improved results in terms of overall style and consistency. I'm also open to constructive suggestions for improvements.
Compatible with everything that does not directly edit these eight textures. Set your mod priorities accordingly.
The perfect location to test the new tapestries is in the Imperial Chapel in Ebonheart, where all of them are on display. You can quickly go there with the following console command
coc "Ebonheart, Imperial Chapels"
Installation
Nothing fancy here, simply copy the texture folder into your game installation, either manually or with the mod managing tool of your choice. If using OpenMW, a simple dedicated directory is enough.
Disclaimer
I've used generative AI tools as part of my workflow. I respect that some users may have a negative stance against AI and prefer fully manual work, feel free to skip my content if it's not your cup of tea. Regardless of your stance, I expect that comments and discussions on my mods remain polite, constructive, and respectful, and let’s keep this as civil as possible.
