📋 About This Mod
More Accurate Attribute Descriptions
Morrowind's attribute descriptions lack information about the full effects of some attributes. If you don't know the game mechanics or don't check the guide, you may not even know that Endurance affects Fatigue regeneration or that Willpower affects spell casting chance, for example. This bothered me a lot more than it should have.
This mod changes descriptions of Endurance, Willpower, Intelligence, Strength and Agility for more accuracy. It also tweaks a few dialogue entries related to attributes (truly minor stuff).
Very few mods modify attribute descriptions, so this one should be highly compatible. However, you should not use this mod together with NCG as it already integrated attribute changes along with other NCG-related changes to attribute descriptions.
There are far more inaccuracies in descriptions of spell effects, but this is something covered by MRF already.
Meaningful Traps
Traps have no difficulty levels in Vanilla. This is because GMST value related to that is set to 0 by default. The devs also didn't pay much attention to spell cost of traps which can affect their difficulty with GMST (as they didn't really have to), so they are all over the place. This mod changes that.
-
[]GMST changed so that traps have real difficulty checks. With low Security skill, a trap can even be too complex for the player to disarm.[/]
[]"Spells" which the game usually uses for traps were adjusted so they are a bit more potent and have more consistent cost that can be reliably used in trap disarm formula. Traps which didn't have damage effects now have long-lasting debuffs to make them more impactful. [/]
[]No other spells were changed for maximum compatibility with other mods. No container changes. This is a minimalistic module.[/]
[]The level designers sometimes use other spells as traps in doors or containers. Those were not changed (they can even be standard spells but just used as traps). Other mods may change them. Either way, spell cost will be used in the disarm formula.[/]
Security Tools Rebalance
-
[]Charges lowered from 25 to 15 except for secret master quality tools which have 20 (they are not even available in Vanilla but some mods use them including the ones on MOMW modlists). If you use optional Harder preset, charges are further lowered to 10 for most tools and 15 for secret master quality tools. Pick just one.[/]
[]High quality tools have lower weight.[/]
[]Skeleton Key charges increased from 50 to 100 and price increased from 1000 to 5000 to reflect artifact status.[/]
Tamriel Data module available as well. It tweaks the few new tools for consistency.
I recommend using this together with HBFS security module which increases lockpicking difficulty. For magic-related changed, I recommend using MRF since it makes Open spells notably more expensive.
Hand to Hand Rebalance
Use this mod to make OMW's HTH STR scaling option slightly less OP. Base version is way out of whack, with a character with 100 HTH and 100 STR inflicting around 125 Fatigue dmg per hit while in Vanilla (which has no STR scaling) it would be around 50. Tweaked version is slightly higher than Vanilla, but much lower than OMW with STR-scaling on. Also, Health damage dealt to already KOed enemies by HTH attacks was increased. The intent is to make it a bit harder to KO the enemies at mid-to-high HTH and STR levels, but also lower the grind required to finish off enemies with higher Health pool.
