📋 About This Mod

Requires latest MWSE

If you attempt to jump while out of fatigue, you will drop like a rock! Only lasts for a second, but you'll find yourself spam jumping less often ;)

Made with Mantle of Ascension in mind. I was unhappy with how easy it was to cheese my way up walls and trees at Acrobatics 5. This change makes the fatigue usage while climbing (and therefore your Acrobatics/Climbing skill) far more important. Does not require Mantle of Ascension, however; you can also use it to curb your bad spam jumping habit!

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Costly Capering is a gameplay mod that stops fatigue spam-jumping by making your character fall over when exhausted. With 46 endorsements and 6,460 downloads, it's a niche quality-of-life tweak for players who want more realistic stamina management. Last updated in July 2022.

✨ Key Features

Adds a fatigue system where jumping while exhausted causes your character to fall over.
Prevents spam jumping by penalizing continued jumps when fatigue is depleted.
Simple gameplay tweak with a clear, focused purpose.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Tiny but dedicated following (46 endorsements) — players who use it swear by it.
  • Solves a real annoyance: no more bunny-hopping everywhere without consequence.
  • Lightweight mod that doesn't overhaul the whole game — just one mechanic.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2022 — might be out of sync with newer game patches.
  • Falling over might feel too punishing for some players who like mobility.
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who want more realistic stamina management and hate seeing others (or themselves) spam jump. If you're a purist who enjoys survival mechanics, this adds a nice layer of consequence. Skip if you prefer fast-paced movement or don't mind bunny-hopping.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Check if the mod requires a mod manager like Vortex or Nexus Mods — if not, just drop the files into your game's Data folder.
  • Since it's a gameplay tweak, test it in a single-player world first to see how the fall-over mechanic feels.
  • If you're playing on a server, make sure the mod is installed on the server side too, otherwise it won't work.
