📋 About This Mod

a set of normalmaps based on flash's intelligent textures mod. textures were handpainted before being used to generate normalmaps, then resized and compressed to minimize disk and VRAM usage.

this mod is compatible with vanilla textures, but the Intelligent Textures mod is recommended.

this mod is technically compatible with vanilla morrowind, but doesn't currently include any meshes, and without them it has no effect in vanilla. the mod is plug and play for OpenMW.

this release includes the full set, generic leather parts, shield, and tower shield, but let me know if i missed anything.

make sure you have normalmaps enabled in settings.cfg

auto use object normal maps = true

auto use terrain normal maps = true

recommended to use with Subtle Magic Glow https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/4468

if you enjoy the mod please leave screenshots, as i would rather work on more mods than take screenshots of my own.

please report any issues in the bug tracker. if this release goes well, and windows stops being a brokedick PoS i will probably release the dragonbone and dragonscale armor next.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you're using OpenMW, as this mod is built for it and won't work with the original Morrowind engine.
  • Place the mod's files in your OpenMW data directory, or use a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 to keep things tidy.
  • If you're not seeing the normalmaps in-game, check that your OpenMW settings have 'Shaders' enabled.
