📋 About This Mod
The proportions for the majority of the two-handed swords in the game are pretty bad, especially the grip length, which tends to be nearly half the length of the blade. This mod fixes that by individually reshaping each part of the sword, though the blade length has generally been left alone. Some swords have not received any changes:
-
[]The adamantium claymore is a lost cause, it's really bad. The entire mesh would have to be remade, or potentially re-use an existing mesh and retexture with existing adamantium textures. May add in the future.
[
]Umbra has received no touch-ups, as it is already vastly improved by New Umbra. The main file contains a brand new Chrysamere and iron claymore, straying from the original designs. If you'd like to keep the original designs but with improved proportions, pick the corresponding "BSC - purist" file from the optional section.
Texture replacers are fully compatible, with the exception of Ice Blade of the Monarch, Chrysamere, and iron claymore (if not using the purist versions for the latter two), as these uses custom textures.
All sheathes from Weapon Sheathing have also been reshaped to match the weapons, with an extra one from Weapon Sheathing Additions for the nordic silver claymore. I heavily recommend getting this mod which puts claymore scabbards on the hip.
Reshapes nearly all claymores in the game to have more reasonable proportions. A simple visual overhaul for players who find the original sword designs too bulky or unrealistic. With 73 endorsements and 15,353 downloads, it's a niche but appreciated tweak.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fixes the unrealistic bulk of vanilla claymores—makes them look like actual swords.
- Decent download count (15,353) shows it's been tried by a fair number of players.
- Lightweight mod, likely no performance hit.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 73 endorsements—small community footprint, so don't expect widespread support.
- Last updated in April 2023—may not be compatible with the latest game version.
- No screenshots or detailed description provided, so you're going in blind.
For players who care about weapon aesthetics and find the default claymores too chunky. If you're a purist who wants more realistic proportions without changing gameplay, this is for you. Skip if you want new weapons or gameplay tweaks—this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Check if your game version is compatible—last update was in 2023, so if you're on a newer patch, test it early.
- Since it's a mesh replacer, it should work with most mod managers—just drop it in your mod folder.
- If you use other weapon mods, load order might matter—place this after them to ensure it takes effect.
