Auto Sheathe Before Drawing

Description

Tired of watching your weapons teleport into your hand whenever you switch them through hotkeys? No more!

This small mod — the first one I’ve ever made, so be gentle — makes your character play the sheathing animation for the weapon you were already using before drawing the new one.

The idea is to add a bit more immersion when switching weapons through hotkeys. However, this also happens when switching weapons through the inventory. The weapon shown in the character preview does not update immediately; the change will only be visible after opening the inventory again.

Works without issues with Hotkeys Extender 1. 15, released on May 5, 2026. If your version is older than that, you will need to update it.

Tested on vanilla Morrowind and with the Outlander collection available on Wabbajack.

Requirements

This mod was made for MWSE. I don’t know whether OpenMW needs something like this. But if that is the case, and people ask for it, I can try to provide one.
