Anthropographia of Tamriel - Saxhleel Argonians and Hist-Dunmer Mutants

Description

The Arena "Argonians" are a strain of hist-dunmer mutants created by the Hist to infiltrate the Deshaan Plain and beyond, an experiment that was seemingly abandoned long in the past. Whether anything happened that was considered as a victory of this mutation is uncertain. The Hist aren't telling.Michael Kirkbride,

This project (Part of May Modathon 2026) grew out of an obsession I’ve had with Elder Scrolls lore for years — one of those strange old Michael Kirkbride ideas that never became canon, but never really disappeared either: that Argonians may have begun as Hist-altered Dunmer.

Not “elves turning into lizards” in a fantasy-evolution sense. Something much weirder.

A people rewritten.

The more I worked on Morrowind textures, architecture and old Velothi aesthetics inspired by artists like Moebius, the more I kept returning to the same image: ash-skinned Dunmer standing too close to the Hist for too long, their bodies slowly adapting to something alien.

This mod is an attempt to visualize that idea through concept sheets, anatomical studies and transformation sketches inspired by Kirkbride’s notes, early Scrolls-era surrealism, and the feeling that Tamriel’s oldest histories are less mythology and more biological horror.

Not Lizards.

Something in-between. Something the Hist is still trying to remember.

But the Hist aren't telling.
