📋 About This Mod
==================================================== Ambient Town Sounds for Morrowind v1. 4 ==================================================== Atmospheric sounds for towns and cities in Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon Created 17 Apr 09 Updated 15 Sep 12 by Lendrik Installation ---------------------------------------------------- Unzip into your /Morrowind folder. TownSounds.esp should end up in the /Data folder, the wav files should end up in /Data/Sound/ambient folder. Then simply enable TownSounds.esp in the Morrowind launch screen. What it does ---------------------------------------------------- This mod adds ambient sounds to most of Morrowind\\\'s populated places - towns and villages, taverns, guildhalls, temples and other places. I hope these are subtle enough and fit harmoniously within their setting. From taverns full of drunkards, to the hushed murmur in temples, to the resonant ambience in forts and castles - all such areas received their own treatment. You can use this mod on it\\\'s own, but it\\\'s especially good if you\\\'re using Morrowind Comes Alive, or any other mod that adds extra NPCs to the streets and interiors.
Adds ambient crowd sounds to most populated areas in Morrowind. A lightweight audio enhancement for players seeking more lively towns and cities. With 229 endorsements and 10,929 downloads, it's a modest but appreciated addition to the game's atmosphere.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 229 endorsements and over 10k downloads.
- Simple concept that fills a noticeable gap in Morrowind's soundscape.
- No gameplay changes, just pure atmosphere for immersion.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2012 — may have compatibility issues with modern mod setups or Morrowind Code Patch.
- Audio mods can get repetitive if the same crowd loop plays everywhere.
For Morrowind players who want their cities to feel more alive without overhauling the game. If you're a roleplayer or just enjoy ambient immersion, this is a nice touch. Skip if you prefer the original quiet solitude of Vvardenfell.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to install into your Morrowind Data Files folder and activate the .esp in the launcher.
- If you use Morrowind Code Patch or OpenMW, test the mod early to ensure no conflicts with audio settings.
- Pair with other sound mods for a fuller audio experience, but be aware of overlapping ambient tracks.
