📋 About This Mod

A New Hope takes the awesome work the original Starwind team created and tries to take it to the next level.

The main quest has been carefully refined, smoothed out with countless bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and immersive in-game cinematic cutscenes that bring your journeys between planets to life.

NPCs now offer deeper dialogue, sharing their perspectives on the Republic, Sith, Jedi, and the Mandalorian Wars - shaped by their species, loyalties, and personal experiences.

Visually, the mod makes many improvements. Some assets have been ported from Kotor or Jedi Academy - others from modders resources. Many, such as the buildings of Tatooine, have been created just for this mod. For further details, see the credits list.

There are also over twenty new quests - battle your way through a gladiator arena on Nar Shaddaa, take on contracts from a new Hunter’s Guild on Dantooine, and dive into a variety of reworked and brand-new side quests scattered across the galaxy.

Indulge in a little Pazaak gambling on the side with a new lua implementation of the game - or cruise around the vast landscapes on newly reworked swoop bikes.

Requires Starwind Enhanced and Starwind - Planet Expansions.

Currently not compatible with Starwind, The Next Generation.

For specific details on many of the changes, see below.

Fixes and polishes moments in the main quest:

Chapter 1, Part 1

Czerka transport is grounded until the player solves the Authority Murders.

Lowered the volume on Shade's commlink audio files, which were earsplittingly loud.

The Rodian Uzik at Cantina now asks you to get booze from the bartender, rather than the droid who doesn't sell booze.

You can ask the Czerka Tattooine officer about a hunting license, who will then explicitly link getting the hunting license with the warehouse job. Previously it was not clear what to do next.

The Ithorian in the Czerka office will give you clues about where the spymaster has gone, as hinted in vanilla by Shade.

Chapter 1, Part 2

The freighter will not appear on other planets before you've fixed it up.

Scanner sound and messagebox when near dropship components.

Allows you to buy one dropship component from nearby Manaan vendor.

Chapter 1, Part 3

More NPCs in Ballast will speak to Thegg's whereabouts. The journal text will now match what Shade has told you at the start of the quest (ie - ask the locals) - rather than giving you additional information about hunting a Rancor that was never mentioned by Shade.

Thegg, his crew and the Rancor will not spawn until the correct moment in the story. Previously it was possible to skip ahead in the MQ by visiting Dantooine, Sea area earlie
