Alatreon - Remove Escaton Judgement

Alatreon has two unused "mode change" moves similar to its dragon nova, but for ice and fire. Since these change Alatreon's element just like Escaton Judgement, it can be swapped into Alatreon's AI to replace that. These mode changes don't seem to have hit data (or maybe the hitbox is just tiny), but they're pretty quick so Alatreon will continue attacking you shortly afterwards.

Due to how the game logic uses Escaton Judgement, there are a few unintended side effects:

• []You will not be able to break Alatreon's horns a second time, you'll only get the first partbreak.

  []The partbreak rewards are tied to the first partbreak, so you'll still get those.[/]

[]Alatreon's element (ice/fire) will be locked in upon breaking its horn.

• []I.e. if Alatreon goes from fire to dragon and you break the horn there, Alatreon will not switch to ice for the rest of the fight.[/]

[]The elemental topple counter and progress towards elemental topples will never be reset.

• []This still results in 3-4 topples per fight, if using sufficient element.[/]

[]The Dawn's Triumph Alatreon will be unkillable, due to that quest locking Alatreon's health until it does an Escaton Judgement.

• []I'm not sure it's possible to remove the health lock, and this quest isn't repeatable so I may not address this for now.

  If you downloaded this mod and haven't done this quest yet, you can navigate to Monster Hunter World > nativePC > em and rename the em050 folder to something else (e.g. em050-disabled), do the quest, and then rename the folder back to em050.

  The Alatreon in this quest has less health than a Great Jagras, so you shouldn't have any trouble even if not using element.

Since the elemental mechanics are still present, it's still rewarding to use element on Alatreon, but you don't have to if you don't want to. Not that you had to before.

For those who want to know the technical aspects (without having to decompile this thklst yourself), this mod makes just a few changes in em050_55.thk: In node 197, the check for running to the center of the arena is removed, and in nodes 199/200 the elemental_explosion_to_fire/ice is replaced with mode_change_to_fire/ice.

Installation

Copy the nativePC folder into your Monster Hunter World game directory.
