Reasonable Palico Nerfs

This is a simple mod to nerf the palicoes in the game, in particular their usage of tools. By default, they heal too often, and too much. This mod mostly reduces the frequency of their heals, as well as the potency.

Includes an "unreasonable" file that nerfs these aspects to the ground, if you want your kitty to be mostly emotional support. They'll still do stuff like knock you out of sleep, though. I may update the mod in the future if I find out how to edit their behavior further.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install RE Framework

2. On first boot after installing RE Framework, press Insert, open the LooseFIleLoader section, and check "Enable Loose File Loader"

3. Fully close the game

4. Drop the "natives" folder from your chosen version to the base directory of Monster Hunter Wilds

5. Boot the game up again. If you want to make sure the mod loaded, press Insert again and check the LooseFileLoader section, if it loaded additional files after installing the mod then you are good to go. You can also get hit on purpose and compare the healing values once your cat does decide to heal you.

If you are interested in how to adjust values yourself:

Get MHWS Editor, read its description for usage. You want to extract the STM > GameDesign files from the game's .pak.

Then look for natives\STM\GameDesign\Otomo\DataParam\OtomoToolParam.user. 3, this is the file that contains tool usage and potency. It's pretty self-explanatory from there, but you want to open the table for each tool and adjust the cooldown (higher = less frequent use of that tool) and the HealValue for the heals.

There are other files governing their AI, but I did not have time to test them. Feel free to publish your own version of the mod with deeper/different changes, there is no need to credit me.
