Aim the kinsect towards the center of the screen when drawing weapon with R2.
Enable/Disable under Script Generated UI -> Insect Glaive Aimed Draw
When enabled, drawing weapon with R2 will make kinsect fly along the center ray of the screen. Restores the functionality of MH Rise.
Check the code for how it is achieved - I cannot explain because I found this by accident and don't know why it works. It just works.
