## What is the Potato Shader? This is a shaderpack that tries to stay as lightweight as possible to, as its name might suggest, even be usable on a literal potato of a PC. However it still tries to enhance the visuals in a reasonable way, despite lacking the fabled dynamic shadows and other effects of expensive nature. It also provides a degree of customizability through various ingame settings to allow you to get the experience you want.
## What features does it offer? Dynamic Colors Tonemapping Bloom Depth of Field Motionblur Temporal Anti-Aliasing Ambient Occlusion Custom Water Normalmap Support and many more.
## Any Requirements? OptiFine for 1. 12 or newer/Iris 1. 5. 0 or newer A graphics card supporting OpenGL 4. 0 Windows/Linux Intel HD 5000 Graphics and older are NOT supported on Windows (blame Intel Drivers)!

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge popularity with 2.8M downloads and 507 endorsements, proving it's a go-to for low-end rigs
- Packed with visual upgrades like bloom, DoF, and ambient occlusion despite the light footprint
- Customizable via ingame settings, letting you tweak the look to your taste
⚠️ Cons
- No dynamic shadows or other heavy effects, so visuals won't match high-end shaders
- Intel HD 5000 and older GPUs unsupported on Windows, cutting out some very old hardware
- Last updated mid-2023, so may lag behind newer Minecraft versions or Iris updates
This is for players on potato PCs who still want nicer visuals without tanking FPS. It's also great for anyone who prefers a subtle enhancement over flashy effects, or for those who want a shader that runs on integrated graphics (except the oldest Intel iGPUs).
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're on an older Intel iGPU, check your model before installing—Intel HD 5000 and older won't work on Windows.
- Use the ingame settings to turn off effects like motion blur or depth of field if you need extra FPS.
- Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date, especially on Linux, to avoid OpenGL issues.
