# Alpha 2. 0+

This is an early alpha version. Many mechanics and content are still under development. Bugs, balance changes, and incompatibility with save files from future versions are possible. Additionally, the alpha version is currently incompatible with save files from the beta version.

### Change log: A lot has changed since the last update. The main changes: - There are now 8 portals in the world - now an taint biome is generated around the portals - The ancient world has been completely revamped, both visually and in terms of gameplay

### Brief Description

Currently, there are no research notes in the Thaumonomicon for the alpha version. That is why the steps to progress through the current alpha version are described below.

As in the beta version, access to the Ancient World is unlocked after completing the “Delving into the Eldritch” research, but you can enter the Ancient World earlier if you find a portal, you cannot determine the biome’s coordinates using the nature compass.  After completing the research, unlock the “Void Compass” crafting recipe the compass will point to the nearest portal.  If you’re in Creative mode, you can use the command `/thaumrota tptoportal` to teleport to nearest portal. To enter the Ancient World, you need to activate the portal. To do this, you’ll need the “Ancient fuse” item, which can be found near the portal or crafted. To activate the portal, insert the fuse into one of the sanctuary controllers located on either side of the portal. In the Ancient World, you must find the boss’s lair, defeat the boss, obtain the “Phantom Tablet,” return to the entrance, and open the door to the next layer. At this time, the current content of the alpha version is considered complete.

### Technical Information - The mod uses its custom color shader lighting engine;  it is currently under development and has not yet been fully optimized. If you experience performance issues, you can adjust the graphics quality in the configuration. - The mod overrides vanilla biome generation, which may cause compatibility issues with other mods. You can disable the biome generation override in the configuration, but the infected biome will not generate.

The mod research tab opens after researching 'Delving into the Eldritch', but you can get to the ancient world earlier (if you find a portal)

### Brief description:

The mod adds a procedurally generated labyrinth created on the basis of old versions of Thaumcraft. The mod is designed to be challenging, and dying is expected, so after death the things will be saved and you will return to the normal world  but you will have to go through the labyrinth again and each attempt generates a new dungeon
