It excels at cruising along coasts, rivers, and small canals. It can carry up to 3 passengers plus the pilot. ### Cog (1.0.5+) !(https://cdn.modrinth.com/data/cached_images/9426fe3b8b856068baaf2359e312dc82f5636a63_0.webp) A bulky ship offering plenty of storage space and a large health pool, at the cost of being somewhat slower than the sailboat. It can carry up to 11 passengers plus the pilot. Like the sailboat, it will struggle in deep-water storms, though its large HP pool gives you more time to find a way out. ### Caravel (1.0.7+) !(https://cdn.modrinth.com/data/cached_images/2185a11cf7131e864a8b09e6e82419d8a3d2b380_0.webp) The caravel is a solid and fast ship with a lot of storage. It doesn't suffer storm damages so it's perfect for long journeys in the ocean. It can carry up to 28 passengers plus the pilot. The ship is expensive to build and require a crew of at least 3 people (or villger) to work properly. ### Naval Warfare (1.0.11.5 + OldCannons) With the OldCannons integration you can equip your ships with cannons and engage in naval combat with your friends! !(https://cdn.modrinth.com/data/cached_images/519184574b9ffa93605d6009aaec104cb4aa48cd_0.webp) !(https://cdn.modrinth.com/data/cached_images/f21c5b3f238576403657f4f9826d44984ac925f9_0.webp) ## Animations - While turning the ship will roll, the faster you go, the greater the roll. - The vessels sway simulating the waving of the sea, this subtle movment will increase during rain and thunderstorms - The rudder will visibly turn depending on your inputs. - The sail is fully animated and controllable with a smooth continuous opening and closing. ## Mechanics ### Controls Controlling the ships is intuitive, press W to gradually deploy the sail, press S to retreat it. The speed and acceleration depend on the sail opening, so you can have full control of your ship. ### Zoom You can zoom in and out in third person on the ship with the buttons arrow up and arrow down, you can change these buttons in the config ### Wood based modifiers While building your vessel you should consider the wood that you intend to use. Hardwoods will make ships more durable but bulkier and less maneuverable, while softwoods will make faster, more responsive ships at the expense of durability. **Hardwoods** - Mangrove - Dark Oak - Pale Oak - Acacia **Medium woods** - Oak - Jungle - Birch **Softwoods** - Cherry - Spruce - Bamboo ### Storage All the ships have some onboard storage that you can use to store your stuff during your journey around the seas of minecraft ### Durability and sinking Unlike Minecraft boats your ship will not break if it takes a hit, but it will get progressively more damaged. After losing half of the maximum health it will visibly and gradually start to tilt sideways and slow down. If health drops to zero the ship will sink at the bottom of the sea! If there are any items inside the internal storage they will stay inside and you can recover them in the wreck. !(https://cdn.modrinth.com/data/cached_images/0eb1969142e00fc99d34dbe1fee90f5169185794_0.webp) ### Storms and deep waters Oceans are dangerous places, if you get caught by a thunderstorm in deep waters the ship will take damage over time. This mechanic is biome dependent and can be easily customized with a small datapack ### Repairing You can repair your ship right clicking with any planks, a plank will restore half a hearth ### Crew and Efficiency Crew matters! Every player or villager on board will increase the maneuverability and the max speed of your vessel! ### The new crew system (1.0.7+) - Crew efficiency : every ship has a desired "standard crew" number of crew members to work at 100% efficiency. This impacts maneuverability, acceleration and the deploying speed of the sail. The maximum speed is not affected by efficiency - Minimal crew: this is the minimum amount of crew to manage the ship, if this requirement it's not met this will result in a 90% efficiency penality - Standard crew: this is the standard amount of crew to manage the ship at 100% of efficiency - Optimal crew: this is the optimal number of crew members for the ship to work over it's normal capacity. You will get a bonus for every crew member over the standard crew up to the optimal crew. This is the old crew bonus, it will affect everything included max spee
