**BetterNether (Unofficial Forge Port) — Minecraft 1.20.1** This project is an **unofficial Forge port** of Paulev’s Fabric mod “BetterNether” for Minecraft 1.20.1, including bug fixes and a few small balance/quality tweaks. Forge only (not Fabric / not Forge). **Required on: both client and server.** **Requires: BCLib, WunderLib** ## Latest BetterNether Content BetterNether Forge for 1.20.1 includes all content introduced in the latest BetterNether releases. All additions have been fully integrated and adapted specifically for this Minecraft version and the Forge mod loader. ## Included New Content - The complete Gloomwood biome - Bleached, Veined, and Molten Gloomsculk terrain - Gloomwood trees, leaves, saplings, grass, and vegetation - Gloomsculk geodes, crystals, vines, and lamps - Interactive glowing Gloomwisps - Complete Gloomwood and Dark Gloomwood building sets - Gloomwood boats and chest boatsNew furniture, containers, signs, and decorative blocks - Three new biome music tracks and collectible music discs - New advancements, block mechanics, particles, sounds, and world-generation features **About BetterNether** BetterNether makes adventures in the Nether more exciting by adding new biomes, plants, and materials. You’ll encounter new challenging monsters (like the Naga), explore dark dungeons taken over by Nether creatures, and use new tools with unique improvements to help you survive. Builders also get lots of unique blocks and additional variants of familiar vanilla blocks. **Features** - Dozens of new plants for the Nether - New Nether mobs - New unique biomes - Vertical and volumetric biome system (supporting other mods and datapacks) - Many new materials, recipes, food, tools, and items - Ability to farm some materials using plant farms and mob farms - Many Nether structures, including big and rare Nether Cities - Ability to configure presence of blocks, items, structures, biomes, and plant density (and a config GUI with the ModsMenu mod) - Integrations with some other mods **Fixes and changes in this Forge 1.20.1 port** - Added compatibility with the TerraBlender library and mods that use it (Luminous Nether, Garden of the Dead, Biomes O' Plenty, Oh The Biomes We've Gone, etc.) - Add Ruby item and block tags for better compatibility (thanks RedCraft86) - Fix Stripped Rubeus Log/Bark textures (thanks RedCraft86) - Only use Bark wood variant for trees (thanks RedCraft86) - Improved music system (thanks RedCraft86) - Change (suggestion): removed the Sculk Catalyst from loot tables (thanks Yukiroshi). It was too easy to obtain Fireruby gear early; now you’ll have to pay a visit to the Warden - Change (suggestion): full translation for ru_ru.json (thanks FO13E) - Change (suggestion): new name for moss cover in the Russian translation (thanks happykgit) - Change (suggestion): terracotta has been replaced with smooth basalt in flooded deltas (thanks Eletoast) - Change: lava can now pass through stalactites - Change (suggestion): Nether Brewing Stand now brews 2× faster, 200 ticks; UI progress remains correct (thanks AcaGamer5) - Change (suggestion): Willow wood renamed to Nether Willow in all languages, with native localized wording (thanks AcaGamer5) **Support / Issue reports** This is an unofficial Forge port.
