SpaceFrog's Real Pet Frogs

Have you ever wanted to tame a frog, making them a pet the way you can wolves and cats? Well now you can! This datapack lets you take ownership of frogs using a name tag, the frog will get some great power-ups, they'll always remember they're your beloved pet, ant they'll teleport to you just like tamed wolves. And if you have [SpaceFrog's Hungry Hungry Frogs](https://modrinth.com/datapack/spacefrogs-hungry-hungry-frogs) datapack running alongside this datapack, they'll also defend you from monsters!

### How to Tame a Frog To tame a frog, just rename a frog "pet" using a name tag while you hold the adoption fee in your off-hand. The adoption fee is 1 diamond (this fee is adjustable by creative-users & server-ops, you can change this fee to any other item in the game or turn off the adoption fee all together making adoption free). The name tag will not get used up, so you can reuse it as many times as you want to adopt as many frogs as you want. When you adopt a frog, they'll be automatically given a special frog name, but you're also free to rename your pet frog to anything you'd like.

### Pet Frog Power-Ups Love is a powerful thing - when a frog becomes your pet, they'll get regeneration, resistance, and fire resistance effects permanently. They'll also gain the ability to teleport to you like tamed wolves do. They'll roam around up to 20 blocks (user adjustable to 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 blocks) and then teleport back to you. If you want your pet frog to stay put, just attach a lead to them and then unleash them, that tells them not to teleport to you any more – you do not need to keep the lead attached, just the act of interacting with the frog using a lead will trigger them to stay put. If you want your pet frog to resume teleporting to you, hold a slime ball in your off-hand while you attached a lead – again, you don't need to keep the lead attached, just briefly leashing them while also holding a slime ball triggers them to resume teleporting. Frogs, however, aren’t exactly like tamed wolves, they have minds of their own and will wander around like typical frogs if you disable their teleportation.

### Compatibility with Hungry Hungry Frogs This datapack is compatible with [SpaceFrog's Hungry Hungry Frogs](https://modrinth.com/datapack/spacefrogs-hungry-hungry-frogs), which allows all frogs in the world the ability to eat any hostile mob in the game. Some mobs will take more than one "bite" like Wardens and Ravagers, but typical hostiles like zombies, skeletons, and creepers will go down with a single hit from a frog. You can keep your pet frogs around your base for protection or if you let them teleport, you can bring them on your adventures to keep the hostile mobs at bay. If you're injured by a mob, your frogs will instantly teleport to your location to defend you! Who needs tamed wolves or human friends when you've got a Frog Squad! It's highly recommended you install both this datapack and Hungry Hungry Frogs to get the full experience of having a your pet frogs devour hostiles while caving or take on a Warden or Wither; otherwise, without Hungry Hungry Frogs, your pet frogs will mostly just be there to keep you company and serenade your with gentle frog sounds, which is still nice. However, even without Hungry Hungry Frogs running, your pet frogs will now be able to eat ALL SIZES of slimes and magma cubes, so they can at least defend you from those hostiles.

### Mass Frog Teleportation In case you've lost track of your pet frogs or you want to summon all of your pet frogs to a specific location regardless of their teleportation setting (see above), you can use one of two methods: The easiest one is to use an Eye of Ender – just hold a slime ball in your off-hand and throw an Eye of Ender, this will teleport all your pet frogs from any loaded chunks to your exact location as a mighty Frog Squad. The other method is to activate a beacon while holding a slime ball in your off-hand – this will teleport all of your pet frogs to the beacon. Note that the frogs must be in loaded chunks in order for them to teleport. These mass teleportation methods could also come in pretty handy if you have the Hungry Hungry Frogs datapack running and you want to summon an army of frogs to help you take on a boss or a horde of zombies.

### Multi-Player/Server Compatibility A pet frog database is maintained in the world data folder where all pet frogs are recorded for each player on a server (up to 256 players). Pet frogs will never be forgotten.

### Bucket-of-Frog Compatibility This datapack is mostly compatible with the [Bucket of Frogs](https://modrinth.com/mod/bucket-of-frog) mod, which, as the name implies, allows you to put frogs in buckets like a number of other mobs in the game.
