📋 About This Mod

First off, I’d like to explain the philosophy behind this balance patch. I come from a background with competitive games where developers sometimes respond to strong options by nerfing them repeatedly until the game becomes less fun to play. For this patch, I’m taking the opposite approach: the goal is to buff weaker or underused abilities, and passives

**V0. 3 changes

Not much to report here but did make a major change to Dybbuk, the Graveyard Boss.

Dybbuk no longer has possession second phase, instead his 2nd phase is now as follows when you get him to 1hp:

He will heal to full, summon 4 zombie cats where there is room, (reusing an unused animation) and become more physically aggressive, and will no longer attempt to dodge attacks in his 2nd phase.

V0. 2. 0 changes

- Added Spanish localization for changed/custom balance patch descriptions.

- Reworked Necromancer passive Dark Priest / Dark Priest+.

- Fixed friendly zombie kittens eating allied corpses while preserving their ability to eat enemy corpses.

- Removed leftover disabled patch file from the release package.

- Credit to nvcambrosia for the zombie kitten fix/inspiration.

Main features

This mod takes many of the lesser or weaker picks from each class (excluding jester and monk) and gives them some more identity and makes them more useful whether that be through a simple mana change, or a complete rework. PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK. this probably will have a few bugs, things not working correctly, and things that may still be underwhelming to use, as well as things that may be completely overpowered. If any of those are the case please let me know and i will do my best to fix and update this as i receive feedback. Here is a rundown of some of the changes in this mod. The full changelog can be found under optional files in the files tab.

Major highlights include:

- Many Collarless utility abilities are cheaper and easier to justify, including Hunt, Lick, Hiss, Knead, Spit, Zap, Sunburn, and Cold Shoulder. Additionally Hose off+ now can be cast more than once per battle.

- Buy Catnip was redesigned into a smaller, more usable coin-to-mana conversion: base now spends 2 coins for 5 mana, while the upgrade spends 5 coins for 15 mana.

- Dump now can Poison 1, while Dump+ is unchanged.

- Hunter trap tools received major help. Bait Trap, Web Trap, Spike Trap, Egg Sac Trap, and several trap-adjacent tools are cheaper or reworked.

- Egg Sac Trap now has immediate board impact by inflicting Webbed and spawning Charmed Tiny Spiders when triggered.

- Vivisect was reworked from an awkward melee tool into a short range lobbed attack.

- Hedge In was reworked into a cleaner terrain-control tool that creates Tall Grass, with the upgrade also granting Stealth to synergize a bit better with the hunter terrain package.

- Mage received broad support for elemental and spellcasting builds, including improved Bolt, Fireball, Freeze Ray, Chain Lightning, Fire Bolt, Freezer Burn, Thunderburst, and several Mage passives.

- Magic Missile is now the default attack for mage, and its normal associated passive is replaced with "Power Paws" which emits a sparkle every time you basic attack and 2 sparkles on upgrade.

- Forcefield now generates armor when casting spells instead of innate divine shield.

- Cleric gained cleaner INT-scaling tools: Rebuke is now an Intelligence-scaling offensive spell, while Reverse Damage is now an Intelligence-scaling heal.

- Tank sustain and control options were improved. Chew Cud, Rock Toss, Bowl Over, Fissure, and Full Force all received targeted improvements.

- Full Force no longer self-Stuns. It now uses Constitution-based self-damage as the drawback instead.
