📋 About This Mod
Description
This mod changes mission templates to start the enemy units "awake" on all combat missions - just like they would on player defenses in Vanilla. This allows the AI to engage with its full force instead of waiting for the player to engage each unit, one at a time. The result is more dynamic missions, with more intense engagements early.
Sabotage type missions which have the objective "Kill less than x% of enemy units" are not awake, but enemy units will now roam on these missions. Stealth missions are now considerably more difficult, as enemy units move actively around the map, though they do still tend to avoid the player (this would require an AI adjustment).
A new feature: AI units will now "re-sleep" if they aren't seen by any unit and can't see any units themselves. This applies to Stealth missions only, since there was an unfortunate behaviour with three faction stealth missions which would break the AI.
Tested versus all enemies on all mission templates.
v2. 0. 0 rewrote the mod to make use of the Menace Modkit (MMK) SDK in c#. This should be more resilient to updates of both the MMK and MENACE. Also, it is now more compatible with other mods which make edits to mission templates.
Other mods to check out

Version control
Currently, the Menace modding environment is one of rapid and frequent changes. The result: things tend to break. Moving forward, I will be better about identifying which Menace version and MMK version the mod was built for. My advice for mod users is: if you have a group of mods working and stable, don't mess with it until you want to install a new mod that has new functionality. Different versions of the game and the MMK will not always play nicely together. Mods made on one version of the MMK will not always load on future or past versions.
06/03/2026 - v2. 0. 0 of WakeUp was built using v33 of the MMK for version 0. 6. 9 of MENACE
06/03/2026 - v1. 2. 0 of WakeUp was built using v33 of the MMK for version 0. 6. 9 of MENACE
v1. 0. 0 of WakeUp was built using v25 of the MMK for Patch #4 of MENACE - some users are reporting that it still works on newer versions of MENACE using the older MMK, but I am not going to downgrade MMK versions to test, so use at your own risk.
