Captured Heavy Tank - Modular Weapons

Give your Captured Heavy Tank a choice of primary weapons while keeping its distinctive original appearance.

This mod replaces the fixed primary loadout with a modular weapon slot. Equip a supported primary to use its abilities, damage, range and ammunition, while retaining the captured tank's original frame. Note: During activation, the attached weapon abilities will originate from the howitzer barrel on the tank frame. The existing light secondary slot remains available.

  The tank and compatible weapons must already be available in your campaign. This mod does not add them to your inventory or unlock black-market progression.

  Requirements

  MENACE, MelonLoader, and Menace Modpack Loader.

  Prepared against MENACE v0. 7. 14+20743. Development/test setup used MelonLoader 0. 7. 3 and Modpack Loader 38. 0. 4. Other game/loader versions are unverified.

  Download Menace Mod Manager from the official project releases

  For Windows, download menace-mod-manager-win-x64.zip, extract it, and run Menace. ModManager. App.exe. The Modkit authoring application is not required.

  Installation

  1. Close MENACE and back up your campaign save.

  2. Open Menace Mod Manager and locate your game installation.

  3. Install MelonLoader and Modpack Loader through the manager if needed. On a fresh setup, launch MENACE once and close it to generate the game assemblies.

  4. Click Install mod or drag this mod's ZIP into the manager.

  5. Enable Captured Heavy Tank - Modular Weapons. Confirm version 0. 6. 2 and author LiveBait.

  6. Let the manager compile the sources, then launch MENACE and equip your primary weapon.

  Upgrading from a test build? Replace the old package, disable the earlier tank diagnostic, and restart the game completely. Enable only one captured-tank conversion. If a saved loadout still shows the fixed howitzer, try unequipping and re-equipping the tank.

  Compatibility and beta notes

  Initial player testing reports that this build works. Every primary weapon, firing effect and save state has not yet been tested. The original cannon animation may not match the equipped weapon. Weapon-specific effects, including lasers, still need broader verification.

  Enemy tank templates and their fixed howitzer are not directly changed. Normal enemy tanks are expected to remain unchanged, but an enemy heavy-tank combat test is still outstanding. The mod adds compatibility entries to shared weapon templates, so other mods that alter heavy-tank weapon setups can conflict.

  Avoid combining this with other captured-tank conversions or mods that alter the same slots and weapon mounting.

  Uninstalling

  Restoring a pre-mod save is the safest rollback. If continuing your current campaign, unequip the modified tank before saving, close MENACE, disable/uninstall the mod, and restart. Removal from an existing campaign is not fully verified.

  Bug reports

  Attach MelonLoader/Latest.log from the affected run, along with your game version, equipped primary and secondary, and any other tank mods. Screenshots or a short video help with animation and firing-effect issues.
