📋 About This Mod
TTRULEZ v3
Changelog Beta 0. 8:
1. Added AI logic for all campaign missions through DLC7.
2. Multiple tweaks to lancemate behavior should move in front of the player less
3. Fixed flank location error where a point that wasn't reachable by the mech could be set causing units to get stuck against an obstruction.
4. Multiple small tweaks to AI behaviors and tuning to make them perform better
5. Fully fixed and implemented lance level behavior for enemy units in campaign missions.
6. Adjusted lancemate building targeting slightly.
Changelog Beta 0. 7:
1. AI now available up to DLC4. Next version will finish campaign AI
2. Fixed AI sometimes not firing if loaded too early at start of the mission
3. Fixed some JJ location behavior to make more effective by allowing them to jump if a path exist either from themselves or the combat target (this tries to limit landing on islands of navmesh and being stuck)
4. Improved stuck logic a bit.
5. Numerous tweaks and small bug fixes to combat behavior I noticed while testing missions.
6. Fixed a math error that could cause flanking units to try to go 3000m instead of 300m. Explains some of the crappy flanking people complained about.
Changelog Beta 0. 6:
1. Updated for DLC8
2. Added AI for GuerillaWarfare
Changelog Beta 0. 5
1. Tweaked the math for JJ in some places and fixed an actual error where the wrong output was being used making slower mechs jump faster. Limited jump height adjustment to clear obstacles to avoid goofy results. Jumping is not at its final polish but should look better.
2. Added custom AI for all campaign and DLC1 missions. This is about half of all total mission files. It took a long time to create all the tools to let the AI do smarter things in missions. Should go faster now. Next release will try to get all remaining DLC up to date and a framework for guessing the mission jobs for Coyote. Alot of the campaign and DLC missions have custom behavior so the AI seems smarter and functions as a cohesive group.
3. Tweaked and fixed numerous poor movement choices or lockups for AI that I noted during my repeated mission testing. Overall the AI should run smoother and much better now particularly when guarding a garrison.
4. Tweaked some lancemate behavior.
5. Fixed the stay in formation for AIEnemies and AI lancemates and now it is working properly with no respawn while in the player view. Jumps now spaced farther.
6. Massive work went into fixing mechs getting stuck with a completely new AI system that finds a clear path without the built in pathfinding system (i.e. doesn't need a navmesh). So far I haven't seen any stuck mechs in my mission testing but that doesn't mean there aren't still failures.
7. Tweaked the building targeting system I built and several other target search features so if en

- Directly improves combat immersion by making AI act more human
- Fixes a common frustration—the 'circle of death'—so battles feel more dynamic
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in August 2026—check if it's compatible with any newer patches or DLCs
- May require adjusting your tactics since AI is smarter and jumpjet use can catch you off guard
For Battletech players who want more challenging and realistic combat encounters. If you're tired of AI circling and want smarter enemies and allies, this is for you. Skip if you prefer the original AI behavior or want a mod that adds new content rather than tweaking AI.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since the mod changes AI behavior, expect enemies to use jumpjets more aggressively—position your mechs with that in mind.
- If you're using other AI mods, test for conflicts; this mod may override similar changes.
- After installing, start a new battle to see the improved AI in action—no need to restart your campaign.
