BATTLETECH 3015 - A Gameplay Overhaul

BATTLETECH 3015 has been updated for the Shadows of Kerensky DLC!

BATTLETECH 3015 is an overhaul with a few key goals:

• []Make MechWarrior 5 play a little less like an arcade shooter and a little more like a sim

  []Improve combat feel and balance

  []Extend the timeline to cover mechs and equipment between 3015 and past the clan invasion to 3067

  []Make the game stick closer to lore with available weapons and mech variants

  []Bring the game closer to tabletop rules while acknowledging this is a first person game

  []Slow the early career/campaign down to extend the light/medium mech period

  []Improve the market mechanics

  To achieve this:

  []A complete overhaul of weapon balance - there are many changes to bring everything into line, but the core is that weapon cooldowns are approximately doubled across the board but with armour and structure values halved back to tabletop values - this results in a similar time-to-kill to vanilla but provides more time between shots to observe the battlefield, check armour values, order lancemates, and maneuver.

  []This effectively doubles the damage output of every shot making every hit count - landing shots is much more satisfying, AC20s are incredibly scary, and the reduced fire rate stops the game turning into a clickfest until someone dies

  []Balanced building and artillery durability, world explosion damage, artillery damage, and weapon explosion damage to suit

  []Heatsink capacity of all mechs restricted to 30 heat as in tabletop and weapon heat values corrected - this results in much more interesting and immediate heat management

  []Many other combat changes including semi-guided SRMs, mode switching for LBX/RAC and UACs, higher LRM firing angles, improved MASC/TSM, and no jam UACs and modified ammunition explosion behaviour to match the latest tabletop beta rules

  []Yet Another Mechlab provides the core, and Lore-based Mech Variants YAML-Edition provides additional mech variants to cover the entire period up to 3067

  []New weapons for the period - Rotary Autocannons, Heavy/Light Gauss Rifles, MRMs, UAC 2/10/20, ER SL/ML, LBX 2/5/20, and clan heavy and micro laser variants

  []A number of weapon types have been removed as they are non-canon, overpowered, or just clutter that cannot meaningfully be balanced against each other - these include various autocannon variants, chemical lasers, non-stream SRMs/LRMs, rifles, and the PPC-X

  []Most non-canon mech variants have been removed from the game barring some campaign specific variants. This also includes hero mechs
