Nerdy Akane

Description

Replaces Alkanes hair and outfit with a nerdy look.  Supports custom recoloring! (see below)

Backstory: Little known by outsiders, Akane excels at academics and the school has accordingly awarded her with the right to wear her own outfits certain days of the week.  Despite being such a good student, Akane found herself seeking acceptance from others and ended up falling in with the "wrong" crowd at school.  She has kept her conservative "nerdy" look but now unfortunately has turned to harassment and other bad behaviors, egged on by her friends.

Go to (unzipped folder)/chara/dds_hires/00/

Use paint.net, GIMP, or other paint program that supports .dds files to edit the desired component:

c_aw_akane_cardigan_di.dds - sweater color - only update the blue and try to keep the texture (you can adjust the hue in paint.net and it will change the color without affecting the texture)

c_color_akaneglasses.dds  - glasses color

c_color_akanesshirt.dds - shirt color

c_aw_saeko_pumps_di.dds - shoe color but only update the white part

Copy all your updated files (with over-write) to (unzipped folder)/chara/dds_hires/01/

Then re-zip the folders

Install with Shin Ryu Mod Manager and point to your modified zip file.

Issues & Limitations

- Prerendered cut scenes are not affected (and this character has several - remember she only can wear this outfit on "some days" per the backstory so other days she defaults to her normal look - and also ditches the new hair style and switches to contact lenses to fit in better)

- There is a scene where Akane and Koda have an adventure in Chapter 13 (I'm being vague on purpose to avoid spoilers) and here you will see some extra clipping and some objects not quite making contact properly.  This can't be helped (at least not without extra-ordinary work) - The original game had various model variants for this that would be extremely expensive to recreate.

- There may be an extra scene somewhere in chapter 13 that uses an alternative model - I've set it up so it "should" work but I have no idea where this is - it could look funny, or even crash.
