Insane Difficulty Insane Difficulty is a modification for Kingdoms and Castles that makes the game more challenging, for hardcore players. This mod can be configured to be moderately challenging, or to turn the game insanely difficult. * Press 'm' to toggle menu Features Insane Difficulty modifies the game to make it more challenging by tweaking and adding mechanics. All of the following are changes Insane Difficulty makes to the game: Viking raids are more frequent Earthquakes can randomly happen, destroying buidlings and killing people. Peasants' hunger is increased There are more happiness modifiers Fires are more deadly Difficulties The difficulty can be set via the ModMenu ('O' to toggle by default). The default setting is easy, which is very near standard in-game difficulty. Adjust it to your liking: EASY: fairly easy, closest to vanilla: Normal Viking Raids Occasional, measly earthquakes Normal fires DIFFICULT: somewhat challenging, makes food a bigger threat: Slightly more frequent Viking Raids Occasional earthquakes, more damaging Fast-destroying fires 2x Hunger CHALLENGING: moderately challenging, vikings become a constant danger and stronger defenses are required: Raids come more quickly Occasional, moderate earthquakes. Fires are harder to extinguish 2x Hunger EXPERT: Earthquakes, Food, and Vikings all become deadlier: Frequent viking raids Frequent, somewhat damaging earthquakes Fires are fast acting and harder to extinguish 3x Hunger Modifier INSANE: Not for the faint of heart, constantly contend with natural disasters, your peasants approval, food levels and raider threats.
