📋 About This Mod

Version 1. 1 - Fixed bug where trees and bushes would fail to load in after playing for a while. Read the new installation instructions.

Instructions: You can disable the mod by pressing F2 and re-enable the mod by pressing F1 (give the game a few seconds when disabling the mod the see the difference).

The mod is enabled by default so you don't have to press F1 in game.

On a 13700K and a 4090 there is a small hit to performance, although your mileage may vary.

Installation: Put the two cfg files into your KCD folder, the same folder where your autoexec.cfg file is located.

Go to Kingdom Come Deliverance\Engine\Engine.pak\Config\CVarGroups\sys_spec_ObjectDetail.cfg and add this line of code:

es_EnablePoolUse=0

And add below lines of code into your autoexec.cfg file:

e_UberlodDistanceRatio inf

e_uberlodSystemMode 3

bind f1 "exec 'High Quality Trees.cfg'"

bind f2 "exec 'Default 2D Trees.cfg'"

Mod is enabled by default, no need to press F1 on startup
Includes two config files for easy installation
Requires editing sys_spec_ObjectDetail.cfg and autoexec.cfg

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Simple toggle system—press F2 to see the difference instantly, F1 to bring it back
  • Decent community traction with 92 endorsements and 7,696 downloads
  • Author fixed a bug in v1.1 where trees would fail to load after extended play

⚠️ Cons

  • Manual installation requires editing game files—easy to mess up if you're not comfortable with configs
  • Performance hit even on a 13700K and 4090, so lower-end rigs will struggle
  • Last updated in August 2023—might not be compatible with future game patches
🎯 Is This For You?
For KCD players who are tired of ugly 2D tree sprites popping in the distance and want a quick visual upgrade. If you're running a high-end PC and don't mind fiddling with config files, this is for you. Skip if you're on a mid-range rig or prefer plug-and-play mods.
📦 Install:Hard· 15+ minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Back up your autoexec.cfg and sys_spec_ObjectDetail.cfg before editing—you'll thank yourself if something breaks
  • Use the F2 toggle to compare performance before committing—if your FPS tanks, you can disable it without uninstalling
  • Make sure the two cfg files are in the same folder as your autoexec.cfg, or the bind commands won't work
