Optimized USER CFG file for medium rigs - Archivo USER CFG optimizado para equipos medios

Hello everyone!

After a long and exhaustive process of trial and error, I have created a custom user.cfg file for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, designed specifically for laptops with hardware similar to a Ryzen 9 4900HS and an NVIDIA RTX 2060 Max-Q 6GB.

The Goal: To achieve a rock-solid 30 FPS with minimal impact on visual quality, focusing on smooth, fluid gameplay. This preset uses DLSS on Quality and aggressively optimizes shadows and CPU processes, while maintaining good object and texture quality. It should work with similar rigs. 30fps is better than none.

--- VERY IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLING ---

DISCLAIMER: This configuration has been tested on my specific rig. Results may vary on other laptops due to differences in cooling, drivers, and software. Use at your own risk.

BACKUP: First of all, if you already have a user.cfg file, please back it up.

PREREQUISITE: This configuration is designed to work in combination with specific in-game menu settings. If you don't configure the in-game menu first, it will not work correctly.

--- VERY IMPORTANT!. Open Steam, select KCD2 and in the properties menu find Launch Options write "+exec user.cfg" without quotes.

--- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (FOLLOW THESE STEPS IN ORDER) ---

Step 1: Clean Up (Recommended): To prevent any conflicts, navigate to the %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\kingdomcome2\ folder and delete the Shaders folder. The game will recreate it, clean and error-free, on the next launch.

Step 2: IN-GAME SETTINGS: Launch the game and apply the following graphics settings in the menu:

Display Mode: Fullscreen

Vertical Sync (V-Sync): Off (Very important! Our config file will handle this)

NVIDIA DLSS: Quality

Overall Quality: Start with the 'Medium' preset.

Texture Quality: High

Lighting: Low

Global Illumination: Low

Character Detail: Medium

Shadows: Medium

Vegetation: Medium

Volumetric Effects: Low

Save your changes and exit the game completely.

Step 3: Install the File:

Download my user.cfg file.

Copy and paste it into the main installation folder for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (the same folder where the game's .exe file is located).

Step 4: The Most Important Step!

Find the user.cfg file you just pasted.

Right-click on it -> Properties.

Check the "Read-only" box.

Click 'Apply' and 'OK'. If you skip this step, the game might overwrite your changes!

That's it! Launch the game and enjoy a stable performance.

--- TROUBLESHOOTING ---

"My sky is purple/pink!": Don't panic! This means your shader cache has been corrupted or that an in-game setting created a conflict. Close the game and follow Step 1 of the instructions (delete the Shaders folder). This should fix the issue 99% of the time.
