KCD2 Mod Manifest Cleaner (Remove supports game version Tags)

Why? So that your mods run again for all game versions.

In my case 129 mods 39 mod.manifest´s cleaned. Some mods are still broken for the new game version - so keep that in mind and read the posts.

How It Works

• []Finds all mod.manifest files in subdirectories.

  []Removes the entire <supports> section, regardless of content.

  []Preserves all other mod metadata.

  []Processes multiple mods in one run, with a report on the number of cleaned files.

  []Prevents errors by skipping missing or inaccessible files.

Why Does This Use PowerShell?

The batch script calls a PowerShell script to process XML-like data correctly, ensuring safe and precise removal of <supports> sections. PowerShell is required because batch scripts alone struggle with multiline text parsing. However, this does not modify any system files or settings—it strictly processes mod.manifest files within your Mods folder.

Usage

• []Place cleaner.bat and remove_supports.ps1 inside your Mods directory.

  []Run cleaner.bat—it will scan and clean all applicable mods. Done.

  []Review the log output to see which files were modified.
