    How to use the CFG file

    • []Place the downloaded user.cfg file in your KCD2 directory.

      []Launch the game with the following parameters: -devmode +exec user.cfg

      How to use the ReShade preset

      • []Download ReShade (the full add-on support version is only required if using it in combination with add-ons like PureDark)

        []Apply the downloaded ReShade preset

        Important Notes:

        • []The first command section in the CFG file must be configured to match your hardware.

          []Recommended: Use CVar Overrider, as the game may override certain commands on its own.

          []Highly recommended: Use Lossless Scaling, PureDark, or OptiScaler, as KCD2 does not support native frame generation.

          []You can even stack Lossless Scaling and PureDark together, and they're also compatible with ReShade. In most cases, Lossless Scaling can double or even triple FPS, with minimal ghosting or input lag. PureDark causes even less ghosting and input lag, but typically "only" doubles FPS, unless you're using an RTX 5000 Series GPU, in which case tripling is also possible.
