20-20 Vision Reshade

The difference between KCD2's SMAAx1 and the TX offerings are a night and day difference in terms of visual clarity. If you're like me and can't get over the blur introduced by both SMAATX options, then this ReShade is for you.

When in motion, the TX AA options blur the image an ungodly amount on 1440p, so I can't imagine how bad it is on 1080p. When stood still, the image is more stable but not by much.

This ReShade aims to provide clarity while sticking to the game's intended visuals, that means no insane 'CINEMATIC 4K HDR ULTRA 2025' saturation and contrast. The only levels I have touched is bringing the white point down a few notches for brighter sunlight and the black point up by 1 to negate some banding that I get in some very dark areas on my monitor in the vanilla game.

The meat and gravy of this preset is the added FXAA and LumaSharpen to balance out aliasing and sharpness. There's also some DepthHaze to provide a softer transition to the horizon and to mitigate some of the far away tree aliasing introduced by the game's SMAAx1 option (or hidden by the TX options, take your pick). I think the visual clarity you get from this far outweighs the aliasing, but see for yourself.

The image compression through uploading to Nexus doesn't do the SMAAx1's images justice, but you can still see the difference here. I urge you to try it in-game if you aren't happy with the game's TX AA.

You could even take this preset and add it to your own. That way you can have the visual clarity while retaining your personal colour/contrast setup of your own ReShades.

FPS hit is around 5-7 for me on a 7900XTX.

YOU NEED TO USE SMAAx1 INGAME, NOT SMAAx1TX, NOT SMAAx2TX.

ALSO WORKS BEST WITH UPSCALERS TURNED OFF/NATIVE AA

1. Download this preset and drop it in your bin/Win64 folder for KCD2 where KingdomCome.exe is located.

2. Download any of the latest ReShade packages (6. 0. 0+) - Latest not required but makes things easier with the automatic grabbing of .fx files from the ini

2. Run the setup, select KingdomCome.exe in KCD2's bin\Win64 folder, then select DirectX 10/11/12, then select the preset (20-20 Vision ReShade.ini) you dropped in the same folder.

4. Setup should have automatically selected FXAA.fx, Levels.fx, LumaSharpen.fx and DepthHaze.fx. Press next when you have confirmed all of these effects have been selected.

5. Run KCD2 and select SMAAx1 in your advanced graphics options.
