Gas masks to belt slot

WHAT IT DOES:

2 vanilla gas masks (Fog mask and Swamp Ninja mask) are now worn in belt slot instead of head. This allows you to wear hat and mask at the same time. All stats of previously owned masks are kept. No new items added. In fact, it's a very simple change, but i spent time to learn how to use FCS and what parameters to change, and i want to save yours.

Reportedly it also (by pure accident) removes red rain weather effect, so if you don't want that and want to keep the red rain, use https://www.nexusmods.com/kenshi/mods/1393?tab=files" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">bug-fixed version from Drake0713's https://www.nexusmods.com/kenshi/mods/1393?tab=description" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">armor mod page. WHAT'S NEW:

• v1. 1 added vanilla Armored face plates as a belt slot mask, to wear together with hats
• v1. 2 added vanilla Square goggles. Same
• v1. 3 Added Ashlander Stormgoggles and mod description in FCS

COMPATIBILITY:

This mod was tested on GOG version 1. 0. 59 and should probably work on other versions as well, including Steam (altho Steam version has a similar mod in Steam Workshop).

Compatibility with other item mods: plausible. If you in doubt or something doesn't work, you can download my mod, open it with FCS (if you don't know how - just google "kenshi FCS"), select category "Armor" and scroll down the list of items to the right of category. You will see that "Fog Mask" and "Swamp Ninja Mask" are highlighted with color. Double click any of them and you will see that only 4 parameters are highlighted. Very minor change. Now you can open any of your other gas mask/armor mods and change these 4 lines for each of 2 vanilla masks as I did. I will attach a screenshot so you can see which lines to change even without downloading my mod.

INSTALLATION:

1. Create "clean" save file:

1. 1 Open/Load your game

1. 2 Take off your gas mask

1. 3 Put it in inventory in such way so it doesn't touch any other items or borders of inventory window (i.e. it must be surrounded by free inventory space)

1. 4 Save game on new save slot

1. 5 Close your game

2. Download mod and unzip it into Kenshi installation directory. So the path would be "Kenshi\mods\Gas mask to belt slot\Gas mask to belt slot.mod"

3. Load your "clean" save

4. Open your inventory and behold your gas mask. It became 2x2 instead of 3x3 size.

5. Put mask on. It now fits the belt slot

OR don't download my mod but edit your other mods instead, as described in "Compatibility" above.

KNOWN BUGS:

6. To refresh your character portrait on the lower panel (so it would show worn mask correctly) put on and take off any hat in head slot.

7. Apparently when i first made this mod i forgot i've previously removed red rain weather effect, which i hate. Somehow this personal fix made its way into the final version. Later i stopped playing Kenshi before people had a chance to try my mod and report a bug, so i never bothered to repair this or even visit this page to see reports. Sorry about that. If you want red rain to stay (which i personally find dubious), please use newer version, fixed by Spacefiddle and Drake0713 (thanks guys). UNINSTALLATION:

1. Create "clean" save

3. Delete folder "Gas mask to belt slot" inside "Kenshi\mods\" folder
