Oxalaia (New Species Mod)

Oxalaia quilombensis is classified within Spinosauridae as a close relative or potential junior synonym of Spinosaurus. The species was named by Alexander Kellner and his team in 2011 based on fossils from Brazil's Alcântara Formation. It is characterized by an expanded, rosette-shaped snout tip with unserrated, conical teeth and an unusual tooth-replacement pattern featuring multiple replacement teeth per socket. Known mostly from isolated cranial fragments, its exact taxonomic relationship to African spinosaurids remains a topic of scientific discussion, though it stands as the largest known carnivorous dinosaur from Brazil.
