Fleshier Flesh Fix (Remaster Bug Fix)

During JWE 3's marketing, Frontier advertised a new feature for the game, something dubbed by the community as "Fleshier Flesh".

This feature allows for light to pass through certain tissues like wings and tails, whilst cool, there's a big catch...

Instead of just being applied to the needed tissues, this effect/bug was also added to every creature in the game!

The result? Every creature in JWE 3 now has this weird blue and orange glow on their body, most visible in direct sunlight.

Me and Scary got sick of this bug, so here we are! Scary did most of the work, the work I did bugged out.

We're sorry if you learned of this bug through this mod page, it's a "once you notice it" type of deal.

So, onto the mod itself, this gigantic mod/bug fix removes that weird orange/blue glow from every affected creature!

As a nifty side effect, all species should now have their details pop a lot more, such as the scales and wrinkles!

Let's get this officially fixed together, hopefully in time for Planet Zoo 2's release since that game seems to have this bug too.

Known issues:

• []1. Due to the beforementioned process, species that had translucent skins now lack them, think of pterosaur wings and Irritator's tail. If you wish to revert this for select species, you're able to by opening the mod's main.ovl with the Cobra Tools and deleting the desired creature's .fgm file, then just save the file and that specific species will now be vanilla and fleshy again!

  []2. Mod compatibility is iffy, there should be no crashes or big issues like that, it's just that modded creatures will have their custom pbasediffusetexture be overridden by this mod (known to normal people as the base blank skin). If you wish to fix this for remaster mods you use, utilize the method listed in issue #1 to remove select species from this mod.

  []3. The male Giganotosaurus now uses the female pbasediffusetexture, this isn't on us, more so Frontier not giving files separate names, the female Maiasaura suffers from a similar issue.[/]

  "How do I apply this fix to my own mods?"

  Well let us show you how! well, ScaryFace will show you how as he discovered the fix, I just discovered the bug.

  We do assume you have basic knowledge of the Cobra Tools though, if you don't know how to use/install them, here's a tutorial!

      
  • []Open the Cobra Tools' fgm_editor_gui.[/]

    []Drag your creatures' . FGM file into the fgm_editor_gui.[/]

    []Turn the blue color of pLayered_PackedTexture to a solid black.[/]

    []Turn both blank pBaseTransmissionTexture boxes into solid black as well.[/]

    []Finally, if it isn't so already, tune the Alpha channel of the two pBaseTransmissionTexture boxes to 255.[/]

    []Save and inject the . FGM file, the fleshier flesh and weird glows should now be gone!
