Faster Fishing

This mod greatly reduces fishing time by applying a large fishing speed bonus to all fishing rods, resulting in near-instant fish catches.

The Instant (Extreme) version overrides fishing time values to minimize the delay between casting and catching fish. This is intended as a strong quality-of-life option for players who want to skip fishing wait times entirely.

Due to how Icarus handles fishing time modifiers, percentage-based versions (25%, 50%, 75%) did not consistently result in faster fishing and have therefore been removed to avoid confusion.

This mod does not automate fishing or change fishing mechanics beyond speed.

What this mod does:

- Greatly reduces fishing time for all fishing rods

- Results in near-instant fish catches

- Removes long fishing wait times

- Provides a pure quality-of-life improvement

What this mod does NOT do:

- Does not automate fishing

- Does not remove player interaction

- Does not modify fishing traps

- Does not change fish quality or catch chances

- Does not affect talents, tech points, or progression systems

Available Version:

Installation (Recommended – Icarus Mod Manager):

1. Download the mod

2. Import or enable it in Icarus Mod Manager (IMM)

3. Launch the game

Manual Installation:

1. Download the mod

2. Place the .pak file in:

Icarus\Content\Paks\mods

3. Launch the game

- Safe to add or remove from an existing save

- All players must have the mod installed in multiplayer

- Only affects fishing rods (not fishing traps)

- Compatible with other QoL mods that do not modify fishing rods
