AHD - Hytale Reshade Presets

AHD Hytale Reshade is a Reshade preset project designed to offer multiple visual directions for Hytale. Planned styles include Natural Realism, Fantasy, Dark Middle Ages, Film Style, and Realistic World.

🍭 Candy Preset – 1. 0 (NEW)

The Candy Preset is a deliberately vibrant and highly saturated visual style that transforms the world into a colorful, almost cartoon-like experience. Greens, blues, and warm tones are strongly enhanced, giving the landscape a playful and eye-catching look. Lighting is brighter and more contrast-rich, creating a cheerful, sunny atmosphere throughout the world. This preset is not focused on realism, but rather on fun, visual impact, and expressive colors. It’s perfect for exploration, screenshots, or any gameplay where a lighthearted and joyful mood is the goal.

🎨 Natural Realism - 1. 2 (Update)

The Natural Realism philosophy does not aim for full photorealism. Its goal is to gently refine the existing art style by improving balance and visual harmony. Reduced saturation, more believable shadows, and carefully tuned lighting create an experience that feels natural while remaining comfortable and practical for gameplay.

Update: 1. 1 - Adding LUT pack. This will make the colors a little more natural, less vibrant.

Update: 1. 2 - Minor lighting and illumination improvements for a more natural visual experience.

🎨 Fantasy Preset – 1. 2 (Update)

The Fantasy approach aims to create a magical, enchanted atmosphere that moves away from natural realism while preserving the harmony of the game’s world. Slightly more vibrant colors, softer lighting, and carefully emphasized magical light sources help shape a world that feels otherworldly—born from legends and magic rather than reality.

The goal is not excess, but a balanced and immersive fantasy visual style that remains comfortable for extended gameplay sessions.

Update: 1. 1 - A little more shadow (+5%), and a less shiny look.

Update: 1. 2 - In 1. 2, subtle color balancing and brighter shadow handling were added, resulting in clearer separation of foliage and environment while preserving the overall atmosphere.

🕯️ Dark Middle Ages – 1. 1 (Update)

The Dark Middle Ages philosophy aims to create a gloomy, overcast, and oppressive medieval atmosphere. The preset is built around muted grey-brown tones, deeper shadows, and subdued lighting to make the world feel old, worn, and unpredictable.

Light does not dominate the environment: even during the day, the atmosphere remains dim and somber, while artificial light sources such as torches and fires gain real importance. This preset focuses on mood and survival rather than vibrant visuals.

Update: 1. 1 - In 1. 1, the light sources have become stronger, so that the game's interiors will not be too gloomy and dark. Also, the sharpness has been set to a minimum.

🌍 Realistic World – 1. 1 (Update)

The Realistic World philosophy aims to bring Hytale’s visuals closer to the feeling of a real, living environment.

Its goal is not full photorealism, but a believable world atmosphere built on natural colors, balanced lighting, and subtle shadows.

The preset reduces overly vibrant tones, gently refines contrast, and creates a more cohesive relationship between sky, terrain, and vegetation. The result is a calm yet detailed visual style that remains comfortable during long gameplay sessions while making the world feel more open and grounded.

Update: 1. 1 - Color intensity and shadow rendering have been changed compared to 1. 0. Minimally changed brightness.

Installation:

Install the OpenGL version of Reshade in the folder below where HytaleClient.exe is located:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Hytale\install\release\package\game\latest\Client

Extract the downloaded Reshade file and reshade-shaders folder to the same location.

In the game, press the HOME button. The Reshade application will appear. Select the Reshade file I created and enjoy the game with the new preset.

Future plans / Planned presets:

Multiple AHD Hytale Reshade presets are planned for the future, each offering a distinct visual mood and atmosphere.

The goal is to give players multiple options depending on their preferred style, including:
