📋 About This Mod
If you wish, you can Support me on Ko-Fi so i can keep making stuff, thank you! (Only do this if you are in the financial situation to do so and think it is 'worth it'!)
Alternatively you can endorse the mod. it triggers the positive feedback loop of "i make things, people like those things, I want to make more things!" ya know?
-Dont forget to endorse other mods you like too! every endorse helps that mod out.
This does make spotting detector towers at range a bit harder since they lack the scanner cone, but you can still tell when it's looking at you based on the glare effect, or the volumetric lighting light-shaft if you have volumetric fog on 'medium' or higher
Also doubles as a glare reducer for gunships so they aren't flying red suns over paradise.
- The light-shafts of the gunship/pelican are only visible out to about 160M, beyond that they don't render.
-They may make it harder to see when aiming at gunships that are locked onto you, you can disable them entirely by setting volumetric fog to 'low'
-They may also be VERY bright on the pelican, so i do not recommend standing in front of it when it lands on foggy maps. ..it is a proper spotlight after all, they are bright.
--This is mainly due to me needing to crank up the brightness to get the light-shaft to show properly, and to get the light to be effective at longer ranges in case you activate the pelican's overwatch gunship mode by leaving the extraction zone before it can say the landing voice line, but after it arrives.
-- Note: Light shafts depend heavily on atmospheric conditions to function, clear planets may not have them shown very well, and they are hard to see during the day, especially on Automaton Gunships.
- Detector tower light does not turn off after the tower is destroyed
- This is due to how lights fundamentally work in HD2, and how the game handles de-spawning the skeleton of certain objects.
A visual fix for Helldivers 2 that replaces the Automaton gunship's scanner with a spotlight that illuminates its target, adds a different glare effect for the gunship and detector tower, and includes a light for the detector tower. Popular with 209 endorsements and 9,438 downloads.

- Fixes a visual annoyance by making the gunship's targeting clear
- Adds a nice touch to the detector tower with a light
⚠️ Cons
- Costs the scanner cone effect, which might reduce situational awareness
- Only affects visuals; no gameplay changes
- Potential compatibility risk with other visual mods that alter gunship or tower effects
For Helldivers 2 players who want clearer visual feedback from Automaton gunships and detector towers. If you're tired of the vague scanner cone and want a spotlight that actually shows where you're being targeted, this is for you. Skip if you prefer the original look or want gameplay changes.
