Minotaur Lover (Asterius Spawns More)

Description

Minotaur Lover tweaks Elysium miniboss selection in Hades so runs are more likely to roll the solo Asterius encounter instead of the butterfly-ball encounter.

The mod keeps vanilla miniboss timing and eligibility intact. It only changes the relative odds after the game has already selected an eligible Elysium miniboss room.

By default, the odds are weighted 9:1 in favor of solo Asterius, but the weights are configurable. It also includes an enabled-by-default Codex credit fix so Extreme Measures Theseus/Asterius variants can count toward the base Theseus/Minotaur Codex entries.

Installation instructions

1. Install SGG Mod Importer for Hades.

2. Extract the archive.

3. Copy the MinotaurLover folder into Content/Mods.

4. Run modimporter.exe from the Content folder.

5. Restart Hades.

To uninstall, delete the MinotaurLover folder from Content/Mods, then run modimporter.exe again.

Main features

- Strongly prefers the solo Asterius Elysium miniboss room by default.

- Leaves the butterfly-ball room available instead of disabling it outright.

- Uses configurable weights in MinotaurLoverConfig.lua.

- Supports vanilla odds by setting both room weights to 1.

- Supports always-Asterius behavior by setting ButterflyBallWeight = 0.

- Counts Extreme Measures Theseus/Asterius variants toward the base Codex entries by default.

- Does not edit saves, dialogue requirements, rewards, or boss fights.

- Does not require ModUtil, though it registers with ModUtil if available.

Requirements

- SGG Mod Importer.

No other mods are required.

This mod imports into Scripts/RunManager.lua and wraps ChooseNextRoomData. It also imports into Scripts/CodexScripts.lua and wraps IncrementCodexValue when EnableExtremeMeasuresCodexCredit is true.

It may conflict with other mods that also replace or wrap Elysium miniboss room selection or map Extreme Measures Champions Codex credit.

Extreme Measures can still change which Asterius variant appears. This mod controls the Elysium miniboss room choice and Codex credit, not Pact behavior.
