📋 About This Mod
Meta-plugin for Mod Organizer 2 that adds support for Grand Theft Auto IV Complete Edition, using FusionFix's `update/` folder as the mod layer system.
Description
This is a meta-plugin for Mod Organizer 2 that adds native support for Grand Theft Auto IV Complete Edition. It hooks into FusionFix's built-in mod loader — the update/ folder — so MO2's virtual filesystem maps directly onto it. Your MO2 mod list order controls which files take priority, exactly like the numbered folders FusionFix uses by default.
Also supports RTX Remix modding — RTX Remix replacement mods (textures, meshes, configs) stored under rtx-remix/mods/ and rtx_comp/ are managed separately outside MO2's update/ layer, keeping your path-traced content organized alongside your standard mods.
Installation instructions
-
[]Download Mod Organizer 2 — grab the portable . 7z version. Create a folder (e.g. GTA IV MO2) and extract it there.
[
]Download this mod and drop game_gtaiv.py into your MO2 plugins\basic_games\games folder.[]Launch ModOrganizer.exe, set it up as a portable instance, and point it at your GTA IV install (GTAIV.exe).
[]Make sure FusionFix is installed directly in your game root folder — it is what reads the update/ folder at runtime.
Main features
-
[]Full MO2 virtual filesystem support for GTA IV via FusionFix's update/ mod layer system
[
]MO2 load order = FusionFix layer priority — higher mods in the left panel win file conflicts[]Each MO2 mod maps to a virtual subfolder inside update/, no manual folder renaming needed
[]Save file browsing support via the MO2 Saves tab (Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Profiles)
[]Supports IV, TBoGT and TLAD content in a single mod install
[]RTX Remix compatible — works alongside path-traced GTA IV setups using rtx-remix/mods/ and rtx_comp/
Each mod installed through MO2 should mirror the layout used inside the update/ folder:
Important: ASI plugins and .ini files (e.g. FusionFix.asi, FirstPerson.asi) live in the game root plugins/ folder and are not managed by MO2 — deploy those manually. Standalone .img files may also need manual handling as MO2 manages loose files only.RTX Remix: RTX Remix replacement mods live in rtx-remix/mods/ (e.g. gta4rtx/, z_gta4rtx_autopbr/) and RTX Remix configs live in rtx_comp/ — these are outside the update/ layer and should be managed directly on disk. rtx.conf and the rtx_comp/ toml files control RTX Remix settings and are not part of MO2's virtual filesystem.
