GTA 6
Rockstar is famously tight-lipped, but a decade of leaks, one official trailer, and confirmed release details give us a clear picture of GTA 6. Here's everything confirmed.
GTA 6 release date
November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar confirmed the date after a delay from the original 2025 window. A PC version is expected later but unannounced.
GTA 6 setting: Leonida (Vice City)
GTA 6 returns to Vice City, Rockstar's Miami-inspired city, now part of the larger fictional state of Leonida — beaches, swamps, and a sprawling modern metropolis. The reveal trailer showed a dense, lived-in world with the most detail Rockstar has ever shipped.
GTA 6 protagonists
Two playable leads: Lucia and Jason, a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style couple. Lucia is the series' first female protagonist. The story follows their criminal partnership across Leonida.
GTA 6 trailer
The reveal trailer dropped in December 2023 and broke viewership records. It showed the world, the protagonists, and social-media satire woven into the story.
GTA 6 engine
GTA 6 runs on an updated RAGE engine — the same engine modders already know from GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. That means the existing OpenIV and Script Hook tooling has a head start.
What this means for mods
No mods exist yet, but the scene will start the moment the PC build ships. Read what GTA 6 mods will look like →
