Flatts's Bomb Harpoon Bolt

What it does

Adds an explosive bolt for the Harpoon, alongside the normal one rather than replacing it. Your Harpoon simply gains a second ammo option.

Bomb Harpoon Bolt - "A harpoon bolt packed with explosives. Detonates on impact."

It has its own icon, so you will not confuse it with the plain bolt in your inventory.

What it is for

• []It opens rock barriers. The cracked rock that only an explosive can clear goes down to a bolt, at whatever range you can hit it from.[/]

  []It hits everything nearby, not just what it struck. The blast is a radius, so a bolt into a cluster catches the cluster.[/]

It uses the game's own underwater bomb as its blast - the same damage type, the same radius - rather than an invented one, so it behaves the way the explosive you already know behaves.

How to get it

Known issue: no explosion animation

The blast is invisible. It does its damage and it breaks what it should break, but you will not see or hear an explosion - the bolt lands and the thing in front of you simply comes apart.

Every field that controls the blast is set, and set to exactly what the game's own underwater bomb uses - the effect simply never plays. The best explanation I have is that the game plays an explosion's visual from the projectile rather than from the attack, and the Harpoon fires its own tethered projectile that a pak mod cannot replace. I am not certain of that, and I would rather say so than dress up a guess.

Worth knowing before you download: this is an explosive that works and does not look like one.

Install

Copy the three files into Grounded2/Augusta/Content/Paks/

Requires Flatts Mod Core (listed under Requirements), which needs UE4SS. Part of this mod is applied while the game runs; without the core that part silently does nothing. To uninstall, delete them.

These mods are built to coexist. Each one owns its own container and its own tables, so you can install as many of mine as you like, in any order. A pak from another author that edits the same thing can still clash.

Built for game version 0. 5. 0. 4. After a game update a pak mod can quietly stop working, so check here for an update before reporting a bug.
